Janet Mills, Maine’s attorney general. Janet is the first female attorney general for Maine and was New England’s first female district attorney. She is running for Governor.

This year, a record-number of women filed to run as candidates for the House of Representatives. So far, over 575 have declared their intention to run. Of the 36 2018 gubernatorial races, 35 are anticipated to have female candidates. Over the coming days, 1460Women will profile many of these candidates.
