Michelle Wie, professional golfer on LPGA tour
"I think the best advice I’ve ever received was from Meg Mallon. Before I played in Kraft [Nabisco Championship], I texted her how nervous I was. I couldn’t go to bed; I could barely breathe. And she told me how great of a feeling that was— just to bask in it, just to realize how lucky you are to be in that situation and that nerves are a good thing. And I really started to embrace it.”
A player by age 4, Michelle rose quickly and was noticed early on as a standout in the golf world. Among her many accomplishments in the sport, Michelle was the youngest player to qualify for a USGA amateur championship at age 10, the first woman to qualify for a USGA championship, and the first female medalist in a U.S. open qualifying tournament.
