Nell Merlino, Founder and President of Count Me In for Women’s Economic Independence. In 1993, she helped launch “Take Our Daughters to Work Day” along with Gloria Steinem, a close friend.

"Originally, Take Our Daughters to Work Day spoke to a deep concern parents, teachers and employers have about the future for girls and women at work. It gave girls a way to be visible, valued, and heard differently by the media and in the marketplace."

"Women entrepreneurs too often try to do everything themselves. It is difficult to grow a business much beyond $250,000 in revenue without delegating responsibility to others at work and at home. The other mistake that I see and hear regularly is women not having a big vision for their business. Think BIGGER and BOLDER and DELEGATE responsibility to others."
